11:37 pm - A Recap of Creative Postings in One Place
^_^ This has been a project long in creation. I have, in this single post, all the links to every significant creative endeavor I have ever attempted on this Livejournal. Not only is a great way to remind myself of what I have done and how far I have come, it is also for those who have encouraged me to create. Here, you can find everything you might remember but don't know how to track down.

Please enjoy. (If there are any errors, please tell me)

10:12 pm - Sorry I Don't Crosspost X_X
I'm mostly just active posting on dA. I should redo them on here but I'm not sure how many people actually read them.

Sending my best however.

6:27 pm - I'm Still Around ^^
It's been a long time since a post. I mostly use dA for daily stuff now. LJ has long annoyed me to the point I don't want to bother with it. And dA, despite the eye-rolling updates...at least adds features from time to time. So, I still might use this if there's issues with dA, but mostly, I'll just leave it for the old story stuff and links ^^.

12:07 am - Need a Giant Beholder!
My ideal home/geek commune will have to have a couple things.

- Multi-gig wi-fi.
- Several computer setups.
- Nice open areas for crazy silliness.
- A couple TV rooms.
- A bunch of nice little private areas.
- Superb HEPA filter system with programmable air by area of the house.
- Gaming tables for D&D/RP friends. And board games as well.

Of course it would have little guest houses for friends to come to visit and have privacy and fast internet.

But I just realized what is missing.

I need monsters!

I realized it when Spoony started his PAX videos and I was smiling my head off looking at the giant Beholder. I want that.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v340/Majorkerina/photo.jpg - You can see it here. And also in the background of Spoony's recent videos.

I love those kind of things. I also need a Dragon Quest slime bean bag. But I love random monster statues/figures/etc. I also enjoy the cute things but come on...look at that Beholder...he's adorable in an ugly dog contest sort of way ^^.

I've only played a little D&D back in college but that just makes me smile. The giant die makes me smile too. Have it in a house and say "that's the game die. And make sure you roll it fair!"

*silly sort of mood* ^^

8:32 pm - Most Epic Zombie Story Dream Ever
Stream of memory and consciousness retelling...

This dream was fully cinematic. It was intense too. It started out with two friends, my POV character for most of it and his African-American friend. They run from zombies in this semi-futuristic, semi-Mall of America type area.

There are beaten down or glowing corridors and there's always running or using blunt objects. As the dream story begins, the zombies are slow, dull-witted and easy to take care of, so if you get bit...you're just being stupid.

As the dream goes, they meet up with more people like a lady scientist and some military personnel who are trying to evacuate the area as well.

I don't recall these sequences too well. The first part I can really remember is where they are desperately trying to get access to a lot of guns so they can fight their way to a planned chopper takeoff area.

So they go to this grizzled old guy who has a beaten down secret base. It's very wooden and rotted but absolutely full of things on the walls and tables to immediately kill people with (like cyanide...acids...massive knives)...and at the back, he has one of the zombies tied up.

We watch and it's starting to edge towards his dog (it's one of those small but kinda shaggy-like dogs...I'd just seen Hot Shots Part Deux on streaming earlier and it looked just like Saddam's dog). The grizzled man asks the group if the zombie is only playing dead and they note it is moving. So he gets down and whips it over and over, screaming at it, and then finally shotguns its side a little so it settles.

Another story arc is that the other main, the black guy, is trying to find his girlfriend (isn't that always the way in these stories?). He eventually meets up with her when the group has the guns.

At this point, the zombies start to get tougher. The group is trying to escape with the old man, who helped them find the guns he has stashed, through a concert area where the floor is a trampoline like for Cirque du Soleil or something. And the group runs and bounds to get higher and the zombies are bounding into the fray as well and their jumping gets good but the group gets through that and into the more futuristic copter area.

At this point, the zombies really get interesting because they seem to have gotten themselves together into like a battering ram (and this is one of the big moments in the dream). They have four zombies running together at the group and they're holding a fifth in front of them (side/frontways) and it is constantly biting.

The black friend gets angry and tries to tackle down the battering ram group of zombies so the others can get through. He kinda fights them off but he gets pinned under the group until the others can finally pull him off.

The group keeps running and finally feels home free when the black guy gives his girlfriend a kiss...and it's half-bite. And she looks at her face in horror and the group realizes that the black guy has been nibbled on the leg and is infected. The girlfriend takes her gun and immediately shoots herself before she can become a zombie.

The black guy is horrified and cries...but he's starting to mumble and get stiff and lethargic. It then switches to his POV and it's strange...it's kinda like the Terminator POV in the first Terminator movie...you can see his thoughts and words and you can see his thoughts starting to break down but he screams over and over for them to put him down before he becomes one too and then there's a little bit of "blarg"...like zombie speak in his consciousness...and then a bullet blasts through his head and consciousness like fireworks shattering everything and fizzling out.

For the last bit...the POV returns to the main guy and the group is getting onto the copters. They're fascinating. It's on a large airfield. But the copters are tall...narrow...and shaped a little like fat, gray sails. I'm sure I saw something like it on Avatar but they look really cool. The copter takes off and it's epic intense music time over the dream credit sequence. The copter is flying over a freeway with cars burning and stopped and people running and there's a shopping center off to the side with so much going on all over...blood streaked on buildings and people trying to running around their cars from the zombies. The copter is distressingly low on the action though.

There's like an off-ramp and a TGIFridays where there's a sign advising what to do about the dead (I could read it easily but I forget the exact wording). The copter is going below and above the overpasses and it's getting into a middle city area (you follow behind like you're flying).

The whole dream is incredibly-detailed with all this and there are subtlities I'm really missing. But there's a tow-line on the bottom of the copter and one of the zombies who can really jump grabs on the bottom of it and is trying to climb up. The copter pilot is trying to shift flight modes so he can get higher but it's stuck and the zombie is trying to get onto the copter. So he flies a little lower and the zombie is splattered against the overpass and they're clear.

The copter also shifts into more of a jet-fighter mode and flies high and away. There's a little epilogue at the end of the dream as the jet is going back into copter mode and landing at the fortified air base and the POV zooms to the heavy, tall fence around the entire base.

The zombies are all around there. They can't break through the twenty foot barrier but...they're pilling up on one side and the pile is very high and at the last moment...one of the zombie maws stretches over the top of the fence and growls....

End of Epic Dream ^^.

7:48 pm - Just relaxing
Saw Anna online today, which was awesome ^^.

Then I slept for about 4 hours...which has been happening a lot. I need more sleep in the evening.

I've been writing okay with Lanuleta University (the fan request type story everyone wanted). I'll try to do more later but it's really hot here right now.

12:45 am - A Look at my Dragon Quest 9 Group
I am Kerina, a fallen celestial trying to help poor souls continue on their way and sooth their loved ones. And get my fyggs back to the Yggdrasil tree.

I am a mistrel, level 23 (tried warrior for a few levels). I have short purple hair and violet eyes. I wield a hard platinum sword and a platinum shield. And of course I get great protection on my head from a plumed feather headband (somehow…). I wear silver mail and ultramarine mittens (they’re fashionable!). My legs are protected by iron kneecaps and I have Wellington rubber boots that ground me in case of lighting attacks (with all that metal you gotta do something to project yourself from being painfully zapped). And I have a good gold bracer ^^.

My allies include Anna (named for anna-wren). She’s a level 23 priest (and very good at keeping us healed). She has long reddish hair (as befitting her ^^) and greenish eyes. She wields a battle fork (which doubles as a great salad fork). She holds a light shield to keep her mobile and wears a yellow Mercury’s bandana. She just changed into magical robes to up her healing prowess and she has lovely silver bracelets. She also enjoys the iron kneecaps so no monsters can kick her in the shin and those lightning-zappy-proof boots. She has a gold rosary to boost her healing abilities as well ^^V.

Then there’s Nina, a skilled martial artist, level 23. She has lovely blue hair and bright red eyes. She wields a pole arm…and a big one. The pillar of strength. It’s a giant metal rod and it hurts a lot. Because of her giant stick, she can’t carry a shield too. She wears a nice pointy hat and tortoise shell armor. She enjoys those trendy ultramarine mittens too along with fishnet stockings. Those rubber zappy-proof boots also round out her ensemble. And she has on a bow tie ^^.

Lastly, is Jin (named for the favorite character of a friend), a level 22 mage. He has short blond hair and intense eyes. He wields a new chain whip which isn’t too strong but it can hit every enemy. I also recently got him a platinum shield just like mine. He has on a cool turban and a nifty cloak of evasion. There’s the silver bracelets as well as an odd choice…He protects his legs with blue jeans. And those rubber boots again to guard against not-nice zappy. A gold ring rounds out his questing outfit.

I’m still only about 18 hours in but I feel like I’ve gotten a good ways. Just need to spam those metal slimes.

9:37 pm - An interesting article on the state of Anime
http://www.otaku2.com/articleView.php?item=679

(and it was reposted here - http://www.siliconera.com/2010/07/24/cowboy-bebop-anime-writer-expresses-frustrations-with-industry/)

"Sato questions whether the audience is even interested in taking a deeper look into stories that creators put out. He feels the general audience is losing its ability to understand the meaning behind narratives that they experience. That works with a focus on plot and narrative are passed up in favour of those with an emphasis on cute characters and no real plot progression. As a result, he says, writers such as himself are finding it harder to find work, even as “Hollywood rips off our ideas.”

Anime is overly focused on materialistic escapism in his views, and no effort is being made to draw parallels with real-world problems and issues."

I wanna promote a rather obscure but fascinating-sounding RPG game called Live A Live

*Live a Live on the SNES is a lighthearted RPG where you play as multiple characters throughout time, including: a cowboy, a ninja, a robot, a caveman, and more.*

It was fan-translated rather like the amazing Mother 3 game - http://agtp.romhack.net/project.php?id=lal (you can find the patch for English here) and the original Japanese ROM is rather easy to find online. I'm gonna try to put it together and check it out like I did Mother 3 but I have a huge backlog of games but this kind of game really intrigues me.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_A_Live (Here's more info on the game.) There's some spoilers though, so read only to the gameplay section.

Now...to my dream. I have severe allergies/sinus issues right now. Taking drugs. Kinda knocked out but I had this great idea in my dream.

I'm sure this has somehow been done but I can't remember how and probably not as deeply as I remember.

You have an RPG/adventure game with an intricate story...that involves alternate timelines.

Here's how it works. You have a MacGuffin of magic or some sort of device which is tied to your save system. You can only use it at certain points in a way beyond just saving your game.

You can go back in time to when you last saved at a special point and restore or rewrite your characters. Say you have a character who has been corrupted and turned bad. You can bring them back from darkness and try to direct them on a nobler path. You can restore characters to life who have died...but in all cases, their abilities and memories of you and your experiences are only as far along as the point you restored them to.

It's a little like Anime of You but more dealing with overwriting versions of people along a timestream.

It would be fascinating to include a social mechanic like in Persona 4 and see how it manages with people who have gotten close and then need to say goodbye and never remember each other again. I like trippy time travel stuff. I could easily see this as a sprite-based RPG with a massive map and on a DVD so it can hold the branching storyline.

1:04 am - Touhou 12.8 - Great Fairy War
http://kourindou.exblog.jp/12990219/

Quick translation (not mine) from ZUN's blog

It's hot.

I've made the perfect game for summers like this!
It's what I'll be releasing next Comiket.

Touhou Project 12.8 (how far are we cutting these?)
It is: "Great Fairy War ~ Touhou March Spirits

Basically, Cirno has declared war on the three fairies. This is a continuation of the books of the same name.

Actually, I was planning to make a game like this since before the release of Strange and Bright Nature Deity book two (the text in that book titled "Great Fairy War" was the opening story for that), but my schedule and other stuff got in the way, and I wasn't able to make it a reality until now! (Just kidding, I'm still diligently working to make it a reality)

Hirasaka Makoto drew the pictures for me, and was able to change it the unusually airy world of Strange and Bright Nature Deity (ah, I got permission from Kadokawa, of course).

Anyway, the game's subject matter is something like this:
"A refreshing game where Cirno advances by freezing danmaku that she ought to be able to dodge."
It's turned into a game where one can sit down and play without thinking, with the difficulty so that it can be replayed again, with bold yet detailed patterns.

(Note: it is under development, and its appearance may change.)

It's a simple game where you don't really need to know about the story or characters and can just play, so for those who like games, please try it.
Of course, the version I release at Comiket will be completed!
Oh, my booth number is East A-28a on the second day.

Though, I haven't finished it yet.

8:54 pm - *giggles*
Funny Random Quotes From My Friend *Man-of-the-Hour* on dA.

Sometimes, I walk through the park and I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger...?" And then it hits me.

Sometimes, I lay awake in bed, looking up at the stars, and I wonder aloud... "What the fuck happened to my ceiling?"

I noticed it was on Kyaa's recent posting but another friend mentioned it too. It's got a bit more fan-service than I usually like but I am a sucker for zombie stories <3.
